Wellness Wednesdays

Location: ARC Meeting Room #3
Times: 5-6 p.m.
Take advantage of our free Wellness Wednesday workshops and gain insight
into sleep, stress reduction and mindful eating. See our schedule on the
web for a full description of each workshop. Offered in collaboration
with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).
April 30: Overcoming Negative Thinking…Easy as ABC!
Learn to identify and refute your own "negative thinking" to help you reduce
stress and remain calm and relaxed during
stressful situations. Facilitator: Michael
Maguire, M.A.
May 7: Cultivating Your Creativity for Wellness and Balance
Learn ways to experience your own sense
of creativity and imagination and how
to incorporate it into your life on a daily
basis. Understand how your creativity can
contribute to greater life satisfaction and a
balance among the demands of academia.

May 14: A Walking Meditation
Mindfulness meditation is about learning
to experience life fully as it unfolds moment
by moment. Walking meditation is a
form of meditation in action. It is easy to
practice, and enhances physical, mental,
and spiritual well-being. In this workshop,
you will learn some basic principles of this
practice and also participate in a walking
meditation. Facilitator: Karin Lawson, M.S.
May 21: Relax Your Body
Learn to integrate deep breathing and
muscle relaxation so that it becomes a
quick and easy stress reliever. You will
learn passive progressive muscle relaxation,
a deep relaxation technique that can
be used to reduce symptoms of stress,
anxiety, insomnia, and certain types of
chronic pain. Facilitator: Karin Lawson,
