Winter 2021 Clinics and Classes

Ski Waxing

waxLearn the art of applying wax to your own skis or snowboards! Outdoor Adventures’ friendly guides will walk you through each step of this process throughout this fun and engaging clinic. Participants must bring their own ski or snowboard, all other materials will be provided. This clinic will be conducted over Zoom if we are unable to provide in-person instruction.

Basic Snow Safety

snowLet Outdoor Adventures’ guides give you all the information you need to know to get out into the snow! This Basic Snow Safety class will cover topics such as appropriate clothing/preparation, where to go, and what to do. Class participants will also receive $5 off of a snowshoe rental! This clinic will be conducted over Zoom.

Knots for Adventurers

knotsKnots are the backbone of many outdoor adventures. Knowing the right knot at the right time can get adventurers out of many sticky situations. Our knowledgeable guides will teach participants some of the most useful (and cool) knots out there. This clinic will be conducted over Zoom if we are unable to provide in-person instruction.

Fly Fishing for Beginners

fishingThis clinic will introduce participants to the immensely popular sport of fly fishing. Outdoor Adventures’ instructors will cover topics such as essential equipment, proper form, and how to think like a fish! This clinic is intended to prepare you for our more thorough fly fishing courses which will be offered in the Spring. All equipment will be provided. This clinic will be conducted over Zoom if we are unable to provide in-person instruction.

Introduction to Backpacking

bpWant to learn how to plan your own backpacking trip? Join us for this intro course where we will teach you the basics of what you need to know to create your own adventure! Over the course of 3 classes we will cover the backpacking process from start to finish. Learn how to pack your pack, plan your route, and make delicious trail food during this amazingly popular class. This clinic will be conducted over Zoom if we are unable to provide in-person instruction.

Dates:

Class unfolds over the course of three weekly classroom sessions. The dates for these sessions are February 23rd, March 2, and March 9th. Each session will begin at 6:30pm and will last no more than 2 hours.
