Outdoor Adventures' Guide Schools

The goal of every guide school is to equip you with the skills and experience necessary to guide trips for Outdoor Adventures. All of the Outdoor Adventures programs are taught by our talented, enthusiastic experienced guides.

Entry into each guide school is based on an application and interview process. Upon completion of the guide school, all guides must TA a designated number of trips and become certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR before being considered a guide.

Outdoor Adventures is proud to offer what we consider to be one of the most comprehensive rafting guide schools available. It consists of 12 classroom hours and eight on-river days spent camping and rafting on the South Fork American River. During this course, you will not only learn the fundamentals of whitewater rafting, but you will also become certified in Swift Water Rescue. Upon course completion, you will be able to guide commercial rafting trips for Outdoor Adventures and other rafting companies. This is a great way to spend your spring break, learn a fun new skill, and make lifelong friends in the process. Participants must go through an application and interview process.
