In order to qualify, the team name must match the Chapter name and be used consistently throughout the academic year. Multiple teams within a sport must be designated by a number after chapter name (Ex: Sigma Chi 1, Sigma Chi 2, etc). Teams may also earn points by participating in CoRec leagues should a fraternity and sorority combine. In this case, both teams need to be included in the team name (ex: Alpha Phi & Delta Chi). Res Hall Cup

Participation in the Rec Sports Res Hall Cup competition is open to current UC Davis students who are living in approved university housing (residence halls or student housing apartment residents only). If you are a transfer student living in university housing (i.e. West Village), you need to be part of the SHA program to be eligible for the sponsored pass. We are still determining the new process for distributing the promo codes for the free Rec Sports ONE Pass.

Rec Sports ONE Pass fees will be covered for all residents that compete in the Res Hall Cup. It will also cover all other Rec Sports that are offered (however, MU Games Area activities will have a separate fee to participate).  Teams must also be comprised of eligible team members from the same or different communities and must have the community name as part of their team name.

All teams will have four games in the regular season. All teams will then advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket pending they meet the following requirements:

  • Attend at least two out of four regular-season games (can only default/forfeit two games during the season)
  • Accumulate 0-5 cautions/warning/ejections during the season (6 or more will disqualify your team from playoffs)
  • Must not have more than one player receive an ejection from a game

Registration

All Res Hall teams must be registered by an RA/CA from that community. Each community may register as many teams as they would like during the first day that online registration opens. For more information on the registration process please proceed here. If a sport you want to register for is full please use the waitlist function. You are only allowed to register for a Res Hall league. By using the waitlist function our staff will be able to open up additional Res Hall leagues.
