REC POOL RULES
- Swimming is only allowed when a lifeguard is present.
- Swimmers must abide by rules and requests made by lifesaving personnel. Rule violation may result in ejection.
- Swimmers must wear bathing suits, i.e. swim trunks, swimsuits, athletic apparel, jammers, swim shirts/rash guards. No cotton*, denim, or excessively baggy clothing.
- Foul or abusive language is not permitted.
- No backward jumps, flips, or twists from the side of the pool.
- No running, pushing, or shoving.
- No rough play, shoulder rides, or chicken fights.
- Hanging on basketball hoops, volleyball nets, or lane lines is not permitted.
- No prolonged breath-holding or underwater swimming. Attempting to swim the length of the pool is not allowed.
- Inflatables and pool noodles are not permitted. Small diving toys and beach balls are allowed and subject to approval.
- No public display of affection that is inappropriate for a family environment.
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
- All bags are subject to search upon entry.
- No glass, food or drink in pool areas.
- Floatation devices must be coast guard-approved and are available upon request.
- Diving in the lap pool is not permitted except during a coached practice.
- Swimmers 17 years and younger must pass a deep-water swim test to use the Lap Pool or the Dive Well.
*Absorbent materials such as cotton can break down in the water and clog pool filters. Lycra and nylon are the best non-absorbent materials for swimwear.
DIVING BOARD RULES
- Only one swimmer may stand on the diving board at a time.
- No running starts.
- One bounce only.
- Backward jumps, headstands, cartwheels or seat bounces are not permitted. Only face-forward jumps and flips are permitted.
- Swimmers must refrain from jumping until the diving area is completely clear.
- No hanging on the diving board.
- Do not swim beneath the diving board.
- Balls are not permitted in the dive well.
