Preseason Retreat

Covid Adjustments

Limited marching band activities until 1/31. In person rehearsals and basketball performances will begin again on Monday, January 31st.

Sectional rehearsals can be held and are encouraged ESPECIALLY for those planning to participate in the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade beginning 1/10. All sectional participants must pass the Daily Symptom Survey, use instrument specific personal protective equipment if indoors, and may not exceed 10 participants in a group. If you have not received your instrument-specific personal protective equipment, please email uniformsucdmb@ucdavis.edu to request it.

Leadership meetings will be held via Zoom beginning 1/10. Please see your emails for Zoom links and more information if you are an officer or section leader.

Full list of Campus Recreation Updates

Each year in early to mid September, the band reconvenes for a week of fun and rehearsals to prepare for the upcoming season. When you attend the preseason retreat held on campus at UC Davis, you'll learn or improve your high-step marching technique, start learning the music and drill for the pregame and halftime shows, participate in leadership and team building activities, and meet the friends you'll keep for the rest of your life--all before orientation!

The 2021 preseason retreat is over, but you can still join the band. Head over to our Join the Band page for more information on joining. Next year's preseason retreat will be held in late August or early September 2022. Check back here in the winter/spring for more details.
