Whitewater Rafting Guides

Outdoor Adventures is hiring whitewater rafting guides for our 2024 rafting season! No experience necessary. Raft guide training is FREE to UC Davis students with an Outdoor Adventures work commitment.

All Outdoor Adventures whitewater rafting guides must go through our guide training which takes place over the course of three classroom sessions and a week of camping and rafting over Spring Break. This training will teach trainees everything that they need to know to skillfully navigate class II and III rapids. Trainees will also receive Swift Water Rescue Certification during this time. After this training, trainees must acquire Wilderness First Aid/CPR certification (free for new hires with work commitment), and pass a skills test before being put on the work schedule. This often requires attending additional training days or acting as an Assistant Guide on our commercial trips. Once trainees acquire all required certifications and complete their skills test they will be able to sign up to work trips throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall rafting season. New staff are asked to make a work commitment of three days a quarter for at least two quarters a year.

Training Dates:

Classroom - Feb. 26th, Mar. 5th, Mar. 12th, 6:30-9:30pm

River Sessions - March 22- March 29
