Wellness Philosophy
To me, wellness means feeling good, both mentally and physically. It is about feeling energized, strong, competent, and like you are taking care of yourself in a way that aligns with your life. I believe wellness is made up of a few components, including physical activity, mindfulness, and continual learning about how to support long term health. I believe that everyone’s wellness journey is unique, and it can also look different for the same person at different times in life. As a personal trainer, I aim to honor each person’s individual needs, helping them adapt, grow, and feel connected to themselves.
Background
Hello! I am Coco, a third year psychology and anthropology student! My wellness journey began when my mom first took me to a gym in middle school. I originally went in with the goal of losing weight, but instead fell in love with the feeling of building strength and the confidence it brought me. Since then, I have explored many types of movement, including CrossFit, jiu-jitsu, pilates, and tennis. I love integrating what I have learned from different areas of wellness into my own holistic understanding, and using the knowledge to help others. In early 2022, after an injury from jiu-jitsu, I began physical therapy, where I gained a deeper understanding of how unique every body is - and how important it is to build and adapt exercise plans accordingly. This experience motivated me to become a personal trainer, so I can help people connect with their own bodies, move confidently, and prevent injuries. I’m excited to share everything I have learned on my journey with you!
