Wellness Philosophy

Wellness is about nurturing the mind, body, and spirit. True wellness extends beyond just an optimum state of physical health and also includes a holistic approach to feeling great in every aspect of life. As a personal trainer, I believe in empowering individuals to embrace their exercise journey with intrinsic motivation, focusing on what makes them feel healthy, strong, and driven. Wellness includes building self-efficacy, taking small steps toward meaningful behavioral changes, and recognizing that progress is a lifelong journey, not a quick fix. This involves developing a growth mindset, challenging cognitive distortions, and encouraging self-compassion along the way. Wellness isn’t just about pushing the body; it’s also about cultivating a positive relationship with yourself—physically, mentally, and spiritually. This highlights the importance of the mind-body connection and how each aspect influences the other.

Background

Hello! I’m Jeff, and I’m currently a third-year student at UC Davis majoring in psychology. My interest in weight training was sparked by participation in track & field and badminton during high school. Through these experiences and learning about health psychology, I realized how physical activity could shape not just the body, but the mind and spirit as well. My appreciation for exercise, combined with my passion for mental health, has shaped my approach as a trainer. I aim to utilize a humanistic approach with each client, fostering an environment of providing unconditional positive regard where you feel accepted, supported, and respected in the gym. Wellness is a personal journey, and I’m committed to helping you achieve your goals and discover fulfillment, purpose, and meaning in life.
