Given the progress California has made in slowing the spread of COVID-19, we are excited to announce some welcome changes to our ARC operations effective Monday, June 21:
Outdoor Diversity Article 3: Take a Look WithinWritten by Members of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Task Force
In previous articles, the issues of financial barriers and lack of representation were discussed; these issues are tied directly to white privilege. However, white privilege itself is not the sole subject of accountability. Rather, it is the lack of recognition of one’s privilege that contributes to the lack of diversity in the outdoors.
Prior to entry, patrons will need to complete theUC Davis Daily Symptom Survey. The survey asks yes/no questions regarding your possible COVID-19 exposure. You are required to cancel your reservation if you experience any symptoms related to COVID-19 before your reservation.

Hello everyone! Just a reminder that Picnic Day is this Saturday and that the Craft Center will be holding a live stream here on Facebook from 12-3pm! Our 8 managers will each be teaching another manager how to make something in their studio. What will our ceramics manager do in the wood studio? Can our glass manager learn how to make rings out of coins? Tune in to find out!
The Craft Center will be closed for studio use on this day.
We are now open to faculty and staff with prior experience and studio orientations! As usual, please complete the Daily Symptom Survey prior to coming in and have the confirmation page ready to show the manager on shift.
The Craft Center will be offering open studio space for students, faculty, and staff with a preexisting orientation during spring quarter. All studios will be open from 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Reservations are $14/day or $70/quarter and can be booked online starting March 29th.
Follow the Craft Center on Facebook for updates and online classes!
Watch the UC Davis Craft Center Textiles manager sew live in real time! Olivia will be streaming the process of her latest project on Facebook Live, Friday afternoons at 4 from the Craft Center Sewing studio.
