Wellness Philosophy

Personally, I believe that wellness means to be a good listener to yourself. This includes listening to your physical and mental needs, while still having a growth mindset. By focusing on the art of listening to oneself, you learn what your strengths are and what gives you joy. I believe that it is important to build oneself up by always being mindful of what your own needs are, whether that would be with eating a healthy meal, going outside for a study break, or even just taking a rest day. It’s important to have an open mind, knowing that everyday is just another step in your long term wellness growth. As a trainer, I will do my best to listen to all of your goals and any areas you are looking to grow!

Background

Hi! I’m Sammie and I’m currently studying Clinical Nutrition at Davis. As a kid, I was definitely on the weaker side, so my parents signed me up for sports in hopes to build up my strength. I was mainly involved in taekwondo and swimming growing up, but my drive for wellness didn’t start until I started getting into nutrition and training outside of practices in order to have better performance outcomes. Since then, exercising has been an integral part of my daily life, and I hope to help others truly enjoy the art of wellness.
