Nutrition Philosophy

I believe that everyone should give themselves unconditional permission to eat different foods. There are no “good” or “bad” foods, you deserve to feed your body food that both nourishes you and makes you happy. Nutrition is about helping you feel your best, both physically and mentally.

Background

Hello! I am a 4th year Clinical Nutrition student at UC Davis. I was born in the Philippines but grew up in the US. Growing up, I was spoiled with food from different cuisines, especially Filipino food. My interest in nutrition began when I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in my second year of high school. When I began my health journey, I thought I had to give up all the delicious food I grew up with. Instead, I found what worked for me and not only developed an appreciation for different cultural foods but also a healthy relationship with food and nutrition overall. I hope to help others find their “happy medium” where they eat both nourishing foods and foods they love.
