Wellness Philosophy
I have long agreed with the ARC's motto, "Come as you are." I believe that it is never too late to start your wellness journey and take steps to better yourself. I think it is extremely important to listen to your own body and do what makes you feel good. Every time that you step into the gym, I want you to be confident and feel powerful.  It is extremely important to be physically healthy, especially as you get older, in order to live your life how you want to. As a trainer, I aim to build a strong foundation to improve how you move and feel everyday towards your best self.

Background
Hello, my name is Matthew and I am an undergraduate UC Davis student studying NPB (Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior). I have been active throughout my entire life and have found passions in volleyball and weightlifting. I love participating in athletics, but things don't always go smoothly. After I suffered my first serious injury, I understood the feeling of having something I loved taken away from me. After that, I made a choice to try and minimize the amount of people that would undergo that same experience. I have worked with people of all ages and gym history, and am confident that I can help you reach your goals. As a functional training and corrective exercise specialist, I plan on helping you build a body that can move well, resist injuries, and has the tools to bounce back if an injury does happen.
