Wellness Philosophy

Wellness consists of many aspects of health and requires both patience and effort. There are many ways to achieve health, and there is no one-size-fits-all when creating a routine that promotes physical fitness and wellness. Creating practical, fulfilling, and enjoyable strategies and habits is essential when developing methods to increase health. I believe that the fulfillment and enjoyment aspect is so vital because it helps to motivate us to continue with these habits because they make us feel good. Finding a way that works for you individually and adds enjoyment to your life is essential to working towards and maintaining your health and wellness goals.

Background

Hi! My name is Mer, and I am a fourth-year student (class of 2024) at UC Davis, majoring in clinical nutrition and minoring in communications. I played baseball all four years of high school and played softball for two years in high school. After graduating high school, I wanted to find a way to continue staying active, so I began working out at a local gym. During my first year of college, I started weightlifting and strength training and loved it. I loved the way it made me feel and being able to watch my progress over time. Seeing how exercise improved my life in many ways, inspired me to become a personal trainer to help others understand and feel what exercise can do for them.
