ARC Reservations Open June 29

Update 7/13/20: Please note that due to a state mandate, the ARC is closed until further notice. 

As Campus Recreation reopens the Activities & Recreation Center (ARC), it is important to note that there are new procedures and initial restrictions in place beginning June 29, 2020. Please see below for more information.

New Protocols and Facility Changes

General Hours of Operation*:

  • Monday–Friday: 7:00 am–8:15 pm* (reservations available in one hour and fifteen-minute time slots — see below for details)
    • Please note that due to a state mandate, the ARC is closed until further notice.
  • Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 am–8:15 pm* (reservations available in one hour and fifteen-minute time slots — see below for details) 
    • Please note that due to a state mandate, the ARC is closed until further notice.
  • *During the reopening period and on select holidays there will be modified hours of operation. Please visit our Hours, Location and Contact page for specific hours on a given day. Reservations are required to use the ARC at this time (please see below for details).

Safety Protocols:

  • If indoors, staff and patrons must wear face coverings at ALL times except when showering. Showering at home is encouraged when possible. (see References below).
  • Six feet physical distancing required at all times.
  • Patrons are required to sanitize individual exercise equipment, mats and machines before and after use with provided sanitizing wipes.
  • Hand sanitizer provided at the entrance and exit location while supplies are available.
  • Increased staff workstation sanitation protocols in place throughout the facility that are conducted before, after and hourly during hours of operation.

Facility Changes:

  • Maximum facility capacity of 150.
  • Touchless facility access via our mobile app.
  • The member services desk and Business Center are now cashless locations.
  • Plexiglass barriers at all point-of-sale workstations.
  • Day use lockers within all locker rooms are temporarily unavailable.
  • Towel service temporarily unavailable.
  • Equipment checkout is suspended.
  • Adjusted equipment offerings to meet physical distancing parameters.
  • Hydration station/touchless water bottle dispensers available. Drinking fountains are offline.
  • Temporarily Suspended Activities and Locations:
    • Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, Wallyball
    • Racket sports (Badminton, Racquetball, Squash, Table Tennis)
    • In person programming
    • Fit Yard, Racquetball/Squash Courts 1-8, South Gym
    • Martial Arts Studio D converted into dance space
    • Main Gym (Courts 1-4) converted into stretching space
  • Equipment offerings include:
    • Strength and Cardio Machines
    • Dumbbells
    • Preset Barbells
    • Olympic Bars
    • Weight Plates
    • Bumper Plates
    • Med/Slam Balls
    • Bosu balls
    • Stability balls
    • Kettlebells
    • Strength Equipment Attachments
    • Foam Rollers
    • Personal equipment can be brought in by patrons (subject to staff discretion)

Restrictions:

  • Small group training is temporarily suspended until further notice.
  • Individual training may occur in studio E by appointment.
  • Group exercise classes will continue online.
  • Cycling studio temporarily closed.
  • Rec Sports and Youth Programs offerings canceled until further notice.
  • Facility tours are temporarily suspended. 
  • New membership are being sold to UC Davis students/reciprocity students, current UC Davis Faculty/Staff, and previous Campus Recreation members that expired during the shelter in place.

Online Reservation System

Reservations for the ARC open June 29 and can be made online through the Rec Portal. Although you are limited to one session per day, you may register for multiple days at a time (up to three days in advance).

Reservation time slots are one hour and fifteen minutes in length. Patrons must show up within the first hour of their reservation to gain access. Please note that the facility will be closed for 45 minutes between time slots for cleaning. 

Prior to entry, patrons will need to complete a self-screening document. This document asks yes/no questions regarding your possible COVID-19 exposure.

How to make a reservation:

  1. Log in to the Rec Portal 
  2. Scroll down and click the ARC Registration Access icon
  3. Select day of the week
  4. Select time slot
  5. Follow the waiver/questionnaire prompt and add to cart
  6. Review your cart and checkout - feel free to bring your confirmation receipt to your reservation.

NOTE: You may only reserve one time slot per day, but you may reserve multiple days at a time (up to three days in advance).

How to cancel a reservation:

  1. Log in to the Rec Portal 
  2. Click on your username in the top right-hand corner. 
  3. Select Profile, then Programs
  4. Click Cancel for the specific reservation

Self-Declaration by patron:

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with the symptoms below may have COVID-19. You are required to cancel your reservation if you experience any symptoms related to COVID-19 between now and your reservation.

I acknowledge that I:

  1. will follow the face covering guidelines outlined by UC Davis Campus and Yolo County.
  2. have not traveled internationally or been in close contact with anyone who has traveled internationally within the last 14 days.
  3. have not come in contact with or cared for someone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 Days.
  4. have not experienced any of the following symptoms in the last 14 days
  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle/body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • New GI symptoms
