Learn the basics of working with borosilicate or hard glass in this four-class tutorial. You will practice multiple decorative and coloring techniques as you complete several glass objects. Projects include pendants, marbles, and similar solid glass objects. No prior experience is necessary.
In this class students will learn how to use borosilicate or hard glass to make glass pendants. Students will be socially distanced in these in person classes and will follow all UC Davis COVID best practices.
This class covers the foundational techniques of handbuilding, including pinch pots, coils, and slabs in addition to the firing process and glazing. It is ideal for beginners or anyone who is missing getting their hands on clay in this unprecedented time.
This Intermediate Handbuilding class will cover many methods of making pots that pour. We will start with a pinch pot and work our way through more complicated methods including coiling and building with slabs. There will be a focus on spouts, lids and handles, proportion, and functionality.
Ever been curious about the wild and wooly world of needle felting? Needle felting is a process of working the wool with a special needle where there are barbs on the lower part of the needle. These barbs will catch the wool fiber and tangle them up together.
