Aggies at Home Fun Run/Walk

  • Info: 

    • We invite all UC Davis students and Campus Recreation members to participate in our Aggies At Home Fun Run/Walk competition! This virtual fun run will feature separate competition for runners and walkers. You are welcome to complete these runs or walks any way you would like, whether outdoors or a treadmill (ARC opens April 19). Competition will be be tracked by distance, instead of times, and all participants must register through our Strava group. There will be 3 designated weeks (tba) where runners or walkers who accumulate the most miles will win the week. We will also have a grand winner for the runner and walker that accumulates the most miles by the end of the quarter. Registration opens Monday April 19 and participants will have until May 30 to accumulate the most miles as a runner or walker. The competition is FREE and available to all students and those with a Campus Recreation membership (must have a valid Fusion account).

Beach Volleyball 4v4

  • Registration Dates:

    • 6:15-9:15 p.m.
      • Game times are 6:15, 7:15, and 8:15 p.m.
      • Game times will rotate each week

    • Rec Pool Beach Volleyball Court, Outdoors
  • Divisions Offered:

    • Open (any combination of players allowed)
  • Captains' Meeting:

  • Format:

    • Maximum of 6 teams, 2 teams per time slot, 45 minute matches
    • All teams will have 3 regular season games. Top teams will advance to single elimination playoffs 
    • Play will be first 2 sets to 17 points, cap at 19 points.  A 3rd set, if necessary, would be played first to 11 points, cap at 13 points
  • General COVID Policies:

    • All participants must show the supervisor on duty their approved Campus COVID Symptom Survey, as well as proof of testing within the last 7 days, prior to participating
    • All participants will be required to stay home if they are sick
    • Participants are expected to report positive cases for themselves or for individuals residing in their household. Participants will require medical clearance from Student Health and Counseling Services and will need to submit clearance to Ben Dao, Rec Sports Coordinator
      • If a participant reports a positive case, that individual will not be allowed to return to participate until they are cleared and submit clearance to the Rec Sports Coordinator. 
      • Face coverings are required at all times for all participants, even when actively participating (exception will be activities in the pool)
      • All participants will be expected and continuously reminded to always engage in proper hand washing, good hygiene, good sanitizing practices, etc.
  • Beach Volleyball Specific COVID Policies:

    • i. Physical distancing/No contact
      • Teams and teammates will be 6ft apart when not playing in games.
      • During gameplay, teams will be separated by the middle net. Once a point has finished, teammates will spread out to a distance of 6ft from one another
      • Players not actively participating in a game will be required to maintain a distance of 6ft from each other
      • When beginning a match, sides will be designated as home and away. When changing sides, participants will have to move their equipment to their specified side and bench. 
      • Players will sanitize hands at each five (5) point interval
    • ii. Equipment 
      • Volleyballs are the only shared equipment. During gameplay, balls will be rotated and sanitized at five (5) point intervals. 
      • The net will be sanitized between games.
    • iii. Small groups < 25 
      • Two teams of four, up to a max of 12 players will be the only groups on the court at any given time. Teams can have a roster of up to 20, but no more than 12 can attend the game.

  • Divisions Offered:

    • Open (any combination of players allowed)
    • Res Hall (for those living in approved campus housing through the university Student Housing department; any combination of players allowed)
  • Captains' Meeting:

    • Virtual meeting day and time TBA
  • Format:

    • Maximum of 16 teams, 12 open teams and 4 res hall teams, 4 teams per time slot, , 45 minute matches
    • All teams will have 3 regular season games. Top teams will advance to single elimination playoffs 
    • Play will be first 2 sets to 17 points, cap at 19 points.  A 3rd set, if necessary, would be played first to 11 points, cap at 13 points

    • 7-8:30 p.m.
      • Game times are 7 and 7:45 p.m.
  • Location of Play:

    • Rec Pool West Deck, Outdoors
  • Divisions Offered:

    • Open (any combination of players allowed)
  • Captains' Meeting:

    • Virtual meeting day and time TBA
  • Format:

    • Maximum of 8 teams, 4 teams per time slot, 30 minute matches
    • All teams will have 3 regular season games. Top teams will advance to single elimination playoffs 
    • Play will be one game to 21. No skunk rule. 
  • General COVID Policies:

    • All participants must show the supervisor on duty their approved Campus COVID Symptom Survey, as well as proof of testing within the last 7 days, prior to participating
    • All participants will be required to stay home if they are sick
    • Participants are expected to report positive cases for themselves or for individuals residing in their household. Participants will require medical clearance from Student Health and Counseling Services and will need to submit clearance to Ben Dao, Rec Sports Coordinator

      • Players will remain 6 feet apart at all times. 
      • Players will ensure they are 3 feet away from their side of the board before, while, and after throwing.
      • Players will sanitize hands at each 7 point interval
    • ii. Equipment 

      • All equipment, beanbags and boards, are property of Rec Sports, and will be distributed to players at their designated time of play.
      • During games, only players on the same team will be allowed to touch their designated bean bags. 
      • Both the beanbags and boards will be sanitized at each 7 point interval (7, 14, and 21).
    • iii. Small groups < 9 

      • Games will consist of 4 players maximum and will not be intermingling with other co-occurring games.

Tennis Singles and Doubles

    • Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting May 11
  • Times of Play:

    • 6:45-8 p.m.
      • Game time is 6:45 p.m.
  • Location of Play:

    • Marya Welch Tennis Center North Courts, Outdoors
  • Divisions Offered:

    • Open Singles
    • Open Doubles (any combination of players allowed)
  • Captains' Meeting:

    • Virtual meeting day and time TBA
  • Format:

    • Maximum of 16 teams, 8 teams per day, 1 hour and 15 minute matches
    • All teams will have 3 regular season games. Top teams will advance to single elimination playoffs 
    • Play will be first 2 sets to 6, at 6-6 we go to a tie breaker. 3rd set, if necessary, will go straight to a tie-breaker. No ad scoring throughout match (at 40-40, next point wins game, returner chooses which side to receive serve)
  • General COVID Policies:

    • All participants must show the supervisor on duty their approved Campus COVID Symptom Survey, as well as proof of testing within the last 7 days, prior to participating
    • All participants will be required to stay home if they are sick
    • Participants are expected to report positive cases for themselves or for individuals residing in their household. Participants will require medical clearance from Student Health and Counseling Services and will need to submit clearance to Ben Dao, Rec Sports Coordinator

Tennis Specific COVID Policies:

  • i. Physical distancing/No contact
    • 1. Participants will stay 6ft apart at all times. 
    • 2. Doubles will be allowed once we reach Red Tier status. 
    • 3. When beginning a match, sides will be designated as home and away. When changing sides, participants will have to move their equipment to their specified side and bench. 
    • 4. If a ball is hit onto another court with players on it, they will need to return the ball using their racquets. 
    • 5. Players will sanitize hands after each set 
  • ii. Equipment 
    • 1. Each team will be given two balls at the beginning of the match.
    • 2. Each participant will be responsible for their own racquets, of which will not be shared with other participants. Any other items participants bring along will not be allowed to be shared (towels, water, etc.).
    • 3. Tennis balls are the main shared equipment. To allow players to play sets with each other, we will mark each player’s tennis balls for the day (number with a sharpie marker). 
      • Example- Team 1 will only serve/touch ‘ball 1 & 2’ and Team 2, only ‘ball 3 & 4’. 
    • 4. After matches, teams will be able to keep their designated balls
  • iii. Small groups < 9 
    • Only four (4) participants in addition to a supervisor will be allowed on each court at any given time. We will have participants sign up for game slots ahead of time, and only those who have signed up will be allowed on the courts.
    • Spectators will not be allowed.
  • iv. Outdoors

Tube Polo 5v5

  • Eligibility/Fees:

    • Open to all currently registered students as well as current Campus Recreation Members. FREE for all participants with a valid Fusion account. No Rec Sports ONE Pass needed.

  • Days Of Play:

    • Sundays, starting May 2
  • Times of Play:

    • 4:45-9 p.m.
      • Game times are 4:45/5:30, 6:15/7:00, and 7:45/8:30 p.m.
      • Game times will rotate each week
  • Location of Play:

    • Rec Pool, Outdoors
  • Divisions Offered:

    • Open (any combination of players allowed)
    • Res Hall (for those living in approved campus housing through the university Student Housing department; any combination of players allowed)
  • Captains' Meeting:

    • Virtual meeting day and time TBA
  • Format:

    • Maximum of 12 teams, 8 open teams and 4 res hall teams, 30 minute matches
    • All teams will have 3 regular season games. Top teams will advance to single elimination playoffs 
    • Play will be two 10 minute halves with 2 minute half time. 
  • General COVID Policies:

    • All participants must show the supervisor on duty their approved Campus COVID Symptom Survey, as well as proof of testing within the last 7 days, prior to participating
    • All participants will be required to stay home if they are sick
    • Participants are expected to report positive cases for themselves or for individuals residing in their household. Participants will require medical clearance from Student Health and Counseling Services and will need to submit clearance to Ben Dao, Rec Sports Coordinator
      • If a participant reports a positive case, that individual will not be allowed to return to participate until they are cleared and submit clearance to the Rec Sports Coordinator.

Tube Polo Specific COVID Policies:

  • i. Physical distancing/No contact
    • Teams and teammates will be six feet apart when not playing in games. 
    • During gameplay, participants will be separated by inner-tubes. 
    • Outside of play, players on the same team or other teams will not be allowed to offer pre or post game handshakes, high fives, or any other type of contacts. 
    • Players will sanitize hands at each substitution and halftime.
    • Players will not wear masks while in the pool, but will be required to wear masks upon exiting the pool.
    • Each team will be designated a right side and left side of the pool where they place their equipment, masks, and cross over from one area of the pool to the other. 
  • ii. Equipment 
    • All equipment, inner-tubes, cages, water polo balls, and caps are property of Rec Sports and will be distributed to players at their designated time of play.
    • Balls will be sanitized and rotated every time a point is scored. 
    • The cages will be sanitized between games. 
    • When possible, each player will be designated their own inner tube. The inner tubes will be sanitized in between games. 
    • Each player will have their own cap, which will be sanitized between games.
      • Players can bring and use their own caps if they prefer. 
  • iii. Small groups < 25 
    • Two teams of 5, up to a maximum of 12 players per team, will be the only groups in the pool at any given time. Teams can have up to 20 on the roster, but no more than 12 players can attend the game.
  • iv. Outdoors
