Biking may seem like a daunting sport to delve into, but below are tips to help make the process of purchasing one’s first bike easier.

Or maybe you still want some amenities like a barbeque pit and an outhouse? Well luckily, there are many opportunities to camp outdoors while still being able to drive your car to a campsite. Thru-hiking describes the act of backpacking end-to-end of a long distance trail, such as the Pacific Crest or Appalachian Trail. These treks require extensive preparation, training, and knowledge in the backpacking field, as well as an appreciation for the natural wonders that come with them.

Chris graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Biosciences and worked for Campus Recreation as an Intramural Sports soccer referee and Intramural Sports supervisor and manager. He also coached the UC Davis men’s club soccer team from 2009-2010. After graduating from UC Davis, he attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences from 2012–2016.

A 2008 graduate of UC Davis with a bachelor's in genetics, Lara joined Campus Recreation as a volleyball official before being promoted to supervisor and customer service coordinator. “Intramural sports at UC Davis provided some of the most amazing experiences both personally and professionally and I have nothing but fond memories of my time there,” Lara says.

Future elementary school teacher Hannah Sarlatte is no stranger to teaching and competition. When she's not attending classes to obtain her multiple subject teaching credential and master of arts in education in the UC Davis School of Education, she is either working as a student manager in competitive sports or playing softball, basketball, grass volleyball, or dodgeball.
